Belonia, February 21 (TIWN):- District Level Workshop on National Health Mission(NHM) at Belonia Town Hall is organized by District Health & Family welfare society, South Tripura today.

 Hon’able Health Minister Badal Choudhury discuss about the project implementation review for the current year and also guidance and planning and ask to involved all PRI Bodies for its successful implementation. He also directed all ASHA / Awanwadi Workers to take care for the successful implementation of Health service along with Health department through mass involvement.  Speaking to TIWN, Minister said it would also concentrate on first trimester registration, skilled birth attendants, institutional deliveries, and also on ensuring that the child is breastfed within one hour after its birth, the mother is discharged within 48 hours, check if the newborn weighs less than 2.5 kg at the time of birth and also if the newborn visits the hospital within 24 hours in case of delivery at home."Care would also be taken to ensure vaccination of measles is given between 0-11 months of the newborn, post partum sterilization of total female, male sterilization and intrauterine device insertions," he added. Among the officials DM South Dr Debasish Basu, Zilasabhadhipati Himansu Roy, Mission Director, MLA Sudhan Das, MLA Basudeb Majumder, CMO South, SDMO Belonia were also present in the workshop. The official said that the performance of districts was reviewed during the workshop. "Guidance on use of District Health Information System was given, which would soon be implemented. Focus would also be on monitoring of mother and child health services, distribution of medicines, identifying high-risk mothers and babies, and taking stock of primary health centers,".
