AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha told media on Friday that there is no such plan yet to be in alliance with Tipra Motha in the upcoming ADC election. The reaction came from BJP after a preparatory meeting of the party was held in Agartala.
CM informed, the meeting discussed various aspects which are needed to be focused in this election. However, he said 28 out of 28 seats are now targets of the party.
“We are alliance partners with the Tipra Motha in the Assembly, but in ADC we are not! We are still functioning as the opposition there. So our goal is 28 seats,” CM told the media.
“We will work for development but now ADC needs a national party. Enough of local parties,” he added.
Tipra Motha party became the ruling party in Tripura ADC after winning the ADC election in 2021 and still impounds a strong support base in the tribal majority area — which would be a blockade for BJP to win independently.
