AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): Tripura High Court division bench chaired by Chief Justice Ramachandra Rao and Justice Biswajit Patil on Thursday in a landmark verdict scraped single bench judgement of justice Arindam Lodh which dismissed petition of fixed pay teachers to get regular scales. In this new verdict, the High Court ordered the state government to clear the pending regular pays of the employees from the date of their joining.
The verdict said, “the benefit of regular pay and other service benefits be given to each of them notionally from the date of their joining their service initially as per appointment orders issued to them by respondents, but actual financial benefits (arrears) shall be paid for period 3 years prior to the dates of filing of the respective Writ Petitions with interest at 9% p.a. till date of actual payment which shall not be more than 3 months from today.”
Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman said this judgement will change the future pay structures.
"It should be implemented for all," said Barman. "We hope everyone gets it soon. If not, then they have to move to court again."
