AGARTALA, Jan 1 (TIWN): Bikes and other vehicle drivers’ alcohol level was tested by police in Agartala on 31st night which continued the whole night, marking the 2026’s beginning.

Drunk drivers put in problems as police used modern technology to test the drug-level.

"A few people were arrested for violating laws in Agartala. Your happiness shouldn't become the cause of others' losses," said an on-duty cop to the media. 

Firecrackers were burnt across the city, prompting the Fire Dept to stay on alert throughout the night. 

No disturbances were reported on the 31st night, and security measures were tightened since early evening.
