AGARTALA, Oct 18 (TIWN): After being criticized, Minister Sudhanta Chowdhury announced that Deepabali related flexes which created controversy have no link with Tripura government as the banners do not name which department has done it. He also said that most likely it’s a conspiracy aiming to darken the face of the Tripura Government.
The statement came from the Minister after Deepabali related flex was showing PM Modi, CM Manik Saha, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhuy’s photos on top of Matabari temple and Goddess Kali. In general, human bodies only can be placed below God/Goddesses’ and temples’ photos ; otherwise it’s an insult to the entire religion. As this was violated, the flex was removed which was later confirmed by the Tourism Minister.
“Generally, when any flex is printed with the government's initiative, it should name the department at the bottom of the banner but you can see, nothing was written there. So it’s not our responsibility,” said Sushanta Chowdhury.
“Most likely someone did it with a purpose to blacken the face of our government,” he said.
The Minister further informed that the unauthorized banners were removed from their places.
