AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): A delegation of CPIM MLAs, led by Deputy Leader of Opposition Shyamal Chakraborty, visited the residence of Anjali Sarkar, a housewife murdered in Mirza, to offer condolences to her bereaved family. The team also included MLAs Sailendra Chandra Nath, Ramu Das, and Sudip Sarkar.
The delegation demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and swift arrest of the culprits. They assured the family of their support and questioned the government's ability to ensure women's safety in the state.
The Left MLAs criticized the government for its failure to maintain law and order, emphasizing the rising number of crimes against women. The opposition will raise this issue in the Assembly, seeking justice for Anjali Sarkar's family and pushing for effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
