AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): A shocking incident of rape has rocked the Unakoti district in Tripura, where a mentally challenged woman was allegedly raped by a youth at the Taj Hotel near the Kailashahar Court complex. The heinous act was captured on CCTV footage, which has sparked widespread outrage among locals.

According to reports, the incident occurred on the night of September 14 and 15. The footage shows a youth raping the sleeping woman. Haseeb Ali, who works in the court, reported the matter to the police after seeing the footage. The police have yet to identify the accused, despite his face being clearly visible in the footage.

The local community is appalled by the incident, terming it a reflection of societal moral decay. People are demanding swift arrest and exemplary punishment for the accused.
