AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): A massive rally and public meeting was held in Kailashahar on Tuesday, organized by the District Congress Committee as part of the "Vote Chor Gaddi Chhor" movement. The rally, which started from Paitur Bazar and culminated at Netaji Corner, saw thousands of people participating.
Kailashahar MLA Birjit Sinha was one of the key speakers at the event, delivering a scathing attack on the state's ruling party and a powerful minister. Sinha alleged that the minister had submitted nomination papers with fake educational certificates and was therefore unfit to hold office. He also targeted the Chairman of Kailashahar Municipal Council, accusing him of ignoring the voices of the Vice-Chairman and councilors, and of amassing wealth through corrupt means.
The rally and public meeting were attended by several prominent Congress leaders, including District Congress President Badruzjaman, Tripura Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, AICC General Secretary Christopher Tilak, and former President Gopal Roy. The event saw widespread participation from the local community, with supporters cheering and chanting slogans in support of the Congress party's demands.
The rally highlighted the growing discontent among the people of Kailashahar against the current government, with Congress leaders vowing to continue their fight against corruption and injustice.
