AGARTALA, Sep 17 (TIWN): Recently a circular was issued in London targeting the Indian community after reddish spots appeared around streets and walls due to "paan", "gutkha chewing" and spitting everywhere and a hefty fine, punishment have been warned against violators who would repeat same activities.
In other words, public behavior has always prevented the Indian government from making the country clean and hygienic, except in only some areas. Tripura observed the "Swachhata Hi Seva" event on Wednesday marking Prime Minister Modi's birthday.
While addressing at Rabindra Bhawan on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha appealed to the people to keep the city clean and reminded that it comes in their duties.
CM also appreciated the Agartala Municipal Corporation's attempts to prevent such pollution and control public negative behavior.
"There was a time, when someone advised a person not to throw garbage on the road, the person used to give a strange look, as if making the outside dirty is their right, but now things are changing," CM said.
He requested the common men to treat the outside as their home, asking, "If the public can keep their home clean, why not outside?"
