AGARTALA, Aug 24 (TIWN): heart-wrenching incident has come to light in the Gandhigram Saha Para area of Bamutia under the Airport police station. A mother-in-law caught her daughter-in-law injecting drugs into her body and handed her over to the police. The shocking part is that this was not a one-time incident, but rather a 1.5-year-long struggle with drug addiction for the young couple.
The father of the addict, who wished to appeal to the Chief Minister, Professor Dr. Manik Saha, stated that his son was not a drug addict initially, but after marrying his daughter-in-law, who was already into drugs, he got trapped in the same web. Despite multiple attempts to rehabilitate them, they couldn't overcome their addiction.
The father, overwhelmed and helpless, appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene and provide financial assistance for his son's treatment. He emphasized that the government needs to take strict action against drug peddlers, as mere talks won't solve the issue. Conscious citizens believe that if the government doesn't take stringent measures, the youth may become so desperate that they'll stop fearing even the law.
