AGARTALA, Aug 17 (TIWN): A dramatic incident unfolded in the Bashpukur area under Jatraput police station. A 26-year-old man named Injamul Haque from Luddamura, who has been suffering from mental health issues for an extended period, attacked and severely injured an assistant of a Kabiraj (traditional healer) named Hanif Hossain.
According to reports, Injamul's family had called upon the Kabiraj team from Bagma to treat him. However, upon seeing the Kabiraj, Injamul fled his home. The Kabiraj and his team later found Injamul at Bashpukur market and attempted to persuade him to return home. Suddenly, Injamul became enraged and attacked Hanif Hossain with a sharp object.
Witnesses quickly apprehended Injamul and informed the Yatraput police station. The police promptly arrived at the scene, took Injamul into custody, and admitted the injured Hanif Hossain to Kathalia Primary Health Center. Due to the severity of his injuries, Hanif was later referred to Melaghar Hospital. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which has caused significant commotion in the area.
