AGARTALA, Aug 15 (TIWN): As a part of celebrating India’s independence from the British in 1947 in exchange for century-long freedom fights by Indians, Tripura schools, colleges, offices, and even households hoisted the national flags to mark the 79th Independence Day of the country. In all eight districts, several programs were organized, whereas one main program was arranged in each district, attended by District Magistrate, Police Superintendent, local MLAs and cabinet ministers.
Students in large numbers enthusiastically participated in the celebrations, showcasing their talents through singing, dancing, and other vibrant cultural performances. The events, featuring yoga, parades, and colorful displays, infused a joyous and festive spirit across the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the Agartala Assam Rifles ground independence day program, hoisting the tri-color national flag there.
CM greeted the people of Tripura on Independence Day.
“On this 79th Independence Day, let’s ignite our souls with the heroic valor of Operation Sindoor, where our bravehearts redefined courage. I appeal to the Youths to unleash your passion for a #ViksitBharat & New India—fuel nationalism, dream big, and shape a glorious future,” said CM.
In various subdivisions, party offices, and local blocks, the day was celebrated with enthusiasm.
