AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): A shocking crime has come to light in Tripura where a husband hired a contract killer to murder his wife. The victim, Kana Debnath Das, a 45-year-old housewife, was found dead in a forest area under the Yatrapur police station in Sonamura.
According to police, the husband, Raju Das, had hired a contract killer, who was also a Trinamool Congress candidate in the recent municipal elections, Dulon Das, and another individual, Mohammad Miya, to carry out the murder. The motive behind the murder is still unclear, but reports suggest that Raju Das had paid Rs.50,000 to Dulon Das for the deed.
The police arrested Raju Das, Dulon Das, and Mohammad Miya in connection with the murder. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had planned and executed the crime. The police recovered Kana's body from the forest area based on the accused's confession.
The case has sparked widespread outrage. The police are investigating the matter further to unravel the circumstances surrounding the murder.
