Khowai, Aug 12 (TIWN): Dr. Krishan Kumar, Managing Director of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), inspected the dilapidated national highways in Khowai, Tripura. The inspection was conducted in the presence of Kiron Gitye, Secretary of the Public Works Department, and other officials.
The NHIDCL MD and the PWD Secretary visited two national highways, NH208 (Khowai-Kamalpur) and NH108 (Khowai-Agartala), which have deteriorated significantly despite being constructed only a year and a half ago. The highways are now plagued with potholes and uneven surfaces.
During the inspection, Kiron Gitye stated that the Chief Minister had instructed him to oversee the national highways' condition. A central team had inspected the highways two months prior and directed NHIDCL officials to rectify the issues promptly.
The inspection aims to address the growing concerns about the national highways' condition and potentially bring about improvements to the infrastructure.
