KAMALASAGAR, Aug 3 (TIWN): A recent incident has come to light in Kamalasagar, where a Yuva Morcha leader and a night guard were allegedly assaulted by BSF personnel. The incident occurred when Rakesh Deb, a resident of Mianpara Tea Garden, was called by the tea garden manager to arrange for some laborers.
As Rakesh Deb was leaving the tea garden office, three BSF personnel, including Sector Commander Aditya Singh, allegedly assaulted him, breaking his arm with a rifle stock. The night guard, Anil Sarkar, who tried to intervene, was also beaten up. Both victims were left unconscious and were later taken to Madhupur Primary Health Center for treatment.
The BSF personnel allegedly tried to attack the victims even at the hospital. A case has been registered against the three BSF personnel, including Aditya Singh, at Madhupur Police Station. Locals have reported that Aditya Singh has been indulging in hooliganism and exploiting local youth by providing them with intoxicants. There are also allegations that he is involved in the smuggling of ganja and phensedyl. The locals are reportedly planning to take action against him soon.
