AGARTALA, July 23 (TIWN): With another success, East Agartala police successfully recovered a woman’s stolen bag which had gold jewelry and money inside. The young woman named Sangeeta Malakar expressed her gratitude after she got back her bag. East PS OC-Subrata Debanth told media that today, when the woman came to East Agartala PS and complained about it, police started a search operation, and CCTV footage was very helpful in identifying the auto quickly where she left her bag.
“She forgot her bag inside the auto. Consequently, she was clueless as she did not remember the auto number,” Debnath said.
The bag was lost at Math Chowmuhani. Immediately, police checked the CCTV footage and noted which autos crossed the area during that assumed period. From one of the autos, she was seen coming out at 12.58 pm.
“The CCTV footage was so helpful to detect the suspected autos. Later, she also identified the auto driver and the bag. The auto driver was also very helpful and accepted that she left the bag. That’s how we recovered the bag,” he said.
Sangeeta told media that within 6 to 7 hours of the incident, the bag was given back to her and she got everything as it is.
“I am so happy and satisfied with the police’s attitude and the way they worked to recover my bag,” she told the media.
