Agartala, July 18, 2025 (TIWN): The All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) submitted a memorandum to the Director of Secondary Education, highlighting the dire state of government schools in Tripura.
The organisation raised concerns about the lack of infrastructure, shortage of subject-specific teachers, and issues with the Vidyajyoti project.
AIDSO demanded the immediate improvement of school infrastructure, cancellation of the Vidyajyoti project, appointment of sufficient subject-specific teachers, timely supply of textbooks, and waiver of fees at all levels of education. They pointed out that the current state of education is pushing students out of government schools and into private institutions.
The organisation also highlighted the plight of students in Vidyajyoti schools, who are struggling to cope with the English medium curriculum and additional fees. AIDSO urged the authorities to take immediate action to address these issues and ensure quality education for all.
