Agartala, July 16, 2025 (TIWN): In a significant drug bust, Tripura Police seized Yaba tablets valued at around Rs 10 crore in the Atharomura area.
Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a passenger vehicle coming from Ambassa towards Agartala and recovered the contraband from a secret compartment.
The suspects, identified as Bikash Deb and Sumon Majumdar, were arrested on the spot. According to officials, the seized Yaba tablets are believed to be part of a larger smuggling operation. The police are now investigating the source and intended destination of the drugs.
This seizure highlights the ongoing efforts of the Tripura Police to curb drug trafficking in the region. Further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the smuggling network.
