Agartala, July 16, 2025 (TIWN): A major haul of narcotics was made in Khayerpur when a cement-laden truck was intercepted, and 30 packs of Yaba tablets were seized.

The truck was reportedly coming from Teliamura, and the driver fled the scene after seeing the authorities.

The seizure was made based on a tip-off received by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Assam Rifles. The truck was chased and stopped near the Khayerpur Outpost on the Khayerpur Bypass Road.

The incident has raised concerns about the rampant smuggling of narcotics in the area, with locals alleging that the local MLA is aware of the situation but has not taken any action against the culprits.
