AGARTALA, July 15 (TIWN): Tripura Higher Education Department will be hiring 915 postgraduate teachers for state government schools. On Tuesday, in a cabinet meeting chaired by CM Dr. Manik Saha, the Ministers approved the recruitment decision. After the meeting, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury told the media that for the 915 PGT recruitment, the eligible candidates must hold a 50% mark in their Master’s along with a B.Ed degree. The Minister said that there is a shortage of teachers in Tripura schools, especially for the postgraduate posts, and that is why the recruitment drive is held. The hired PGT candidates will teach the Class-11 and Class-12 students mainly.
“These qualifications are mandatory for PGT recruitment,” Chowdhury said.
Chowdhury mentioned that 700 graduate teachers on a fixed pay basis will also be recruited for Class-9 and Class-10 teaching. The recruitment will be held under the recruitment rules (RR) of the Education Teachers.
Total, 1615 teachers, including PGT and GT will be hired in this drive.
