One consumer, Pramath Bhattacharjee, a retired employee, received a bill of Rs 31,000 for a single month, while another consumer, Ashoke Das Roy, received a bill of Rs 82,500.

 

 

Both consumers are stunned and have demanded the immediate removal of smart meters. They claim that the bills are unreasonable and have expressed frustration over the sudden spike in their electricity charges. The incident has sparked widespread outrage against the installation of smart meters in the area.

 

 

Meanwhile, the Senior Manager of Khowai Electricity Department, Dibakar Nath, has gone missing after receiving complaints about the smart meter bills. He is not responding to phone calls, and his whereabouts are unknown. The incident has left consumers in a state of panic, and they are demanding immediate action to resolve the issue.
