Sabroom, July 11 (TIWN): The ongoing pipe-laying work by the DWS department along the Sabroom-Vaishnavpur road has turned into a nightmare for commuters. Despite the work being carried out for months, the contractor responsible for laying pipes has left the drains uncovered, filling them with just a thin layer of soil.
With the onset of monsoon, the road has become increasingly hazardous, with vehicles getting stuck in the drains due to inadequate filling. A recent incident on Friday afternoon saw two vehicles getting stuck in the drain while trying to pass each other. Locals managed to lift one vehicle, while the other had to be pulled out with the help of another vehicle.
The community is questioning the DWS department's supervision, as the contractor has been allowed to carry out substandard work. The road has become a potential disaster waiting to happen, and authorities need to take immediate action to address this issue and ensure the road is safe for commuters.
