Bishalgarh, July 10 (TIWN) : The Bishalgarh Police Station is facing allegations of bribery after it is claimed that a murder case accused was saved from prosecution in exchange for ?21 lakh.
The accused, Faruk Mia, a soldier, is alleged to have been involved in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of Rejjak Mia on June 19 in the Ghaniamara Chowmuhani area.
It is alleged that the police submitted a charge sheet in court framing Tofazzal Hossain, an injured person, as the driver of the vehicle instead of Faruk Mia. The police investigation, led by OC Sanjit Sen and investigating officer Prasenjit Debnath, has been questioned by many.
The family of the deceased has reportedly approached the Chief Minister seeking justice, alleging that the police's actions have denied them their right to justice. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and raised concerns about the integrity of the police department.
