Sonamura, July 10 (TIWN) : A controversy has erupted in the Rangamatia area of Sonamura after a local resident, Faruk Hossain, allegedly blocked the drainage outlet of a pond, causing water to flood the home of a helpless woman, Josna Begum. The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the community.
According to reports, Josna Begum had recently constructed her home after receiving government assistance. However, Faruk Hossain, allegedly out of revenge, blocked the drainage outlet of the pond behind her house, preventing excess water from flowing out. Following recent heavy rainfall, the pond's water level rose significantly, causing the water to overflow into Josna Begum's home, damaging her property.
Despite Josna Begum's pleas to the Rangamatia Gram Panchayat authorities, Faruk Hossain refused to take any action. Upon learning of the media's involvement, Faruk Hossain hastily arranged for some workers to dig an outlet to drain the water from the pond.
Josna Begum has announced plans to file a case against Faruk Hossain at the Sonamura police station. The community is now condemning Faruk Hossain's actions, which have caused significant damage to Josna Begum's home. It has been reported that Faruk Hossain migrated to India from Bangladesh several years ago.
