AGARTALA, July 4 (TIWN): A daring smuggling attempt was foiled on Thursday night when a Phensedyl laden vehicle overturned near the BSF camp in Bishalgarh. The vehicle, bearing registration number TR 07A 1842, was a significant seizure of the psychotropic substance, worth lakhs of rupees.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 2 am, when the vehicle lost control and overturned near the BSF camp. The smugglers, who were reportedly traveling in a Scorpio vehicle, quickly fled the scene, taking some of the phensedyl with them.

The police were informed, but they arrived after the smugglers had escaped. The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, but so far, no one has been arrested.

The incident has sparked outrage among local residents, who are demanding action against the smugglers and those involved in the smuggling racket. Many have accused the police of being complicit in the smuggling activities, citing the frequent sightings of suspicious vehicles in the area.

The incident has also raised questions about the effectiveness of the police in curbing smuggling activities in the area. "It's like they're allowing these smugglers to operate with impunity," said a local resident. "We need to take action against these people and put an end to this menace."

The police have assured the public that they will take action against those involved in the smuggling racket. However, the incident has left many wondering if the police are truly committed to stopping smuggling in the area.
