Shantirbazar, July 4 (TIWN): A brazen theft was reported at the Shantir Bazar Model Higher Secondary School in Tripura's Shantir Bazar town on Thursday night. Thieves broke into the school, smashing locks on several rooms, including the headmaster's office, and stole valuable items.
The theft was discovered on Friday morning by Group D staff member Sabitri Das, who arrived to open the school. The police were immediately informed, and an investigation is currently underway to identify the culprits and recover the stolen items.
What's particularly concerning is that the thieves managed to steal the hard disk from the school's CCTV cameras, which raises questions about the motive behind the theft. "The theft of the CCTV hard disk suggests that the thieves may have been trying to cover their tracks," said school teacher Samar Sarkar.
This incident highlights the need for increased security measures at the school. Sarkar suggested that increased police patrolling at night could help prevent such incidents. "If the police were more visible in the area, it could deter potential thieves and help keep our school safe," he said.
The school has been targeted by thieves before, and previous incidents have gone unsolved. The latest theft has left many wondering if the police will be able to apprehend the culprits this time around. The investigation is ongoing, and the school community is eagerly awaiting results.
