Kailashahar : Dawn to dusk bandh being continued peacefully at Kailashahar, killers still at large

Kailashahar, February 9 (TIWN): Amid full-proof security, dawn to dusk bandh called by Unokoti district Congress and CPI-M in protest of twin murder is being continued in peaceful atmosphere across Kailashahar sub-division. According to the last report, no untoward incident was informed till 3.30 pm.
The bandh evoked good response in Kailashahar sub-division as shutters of schools, government offices and other business establishments remain closed, vehicular movement was very thin since the beginning of 12-hour strike today. Since private vehicles were off the roads, a few of the office goers had to struggle to reach their respective offices.
Though, the bandh is continuing in nonviolent ambiance, police failed to trace the killers of twin murder till now. Superintendent of Police (SP), Unokoti- L Darlong expressing the hope said that the culprits of the murder incidents will be booked soon.
Tripura Pradesh Congress President- Birajit Sinha and CPI-M’s local secretary- Paresh Debnath congratulated the people of Unokoti district for observing a successful dawn to dusk bandh.
It is worthy to mention here, two bodies were recovered adjacent to a bridge at Mohanpur under Kailasahar police station on Sunday morning. The duo was identified as Anjan Deb, resident of Kalikapur and Pallab Debnath of Kajirgao, said police.
After the preliminary investigation, police suspected that the duo was killed somewhere else on Saturday night and later the bodies were placed to Mohanpur. “The motive of murders can be traced after the arrest of the killers”, police said.
In protest of this twin murder, Unokoti district Congress and CPI-M on yesterday called the 12-hour strike and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
