AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): Congress MLA Sudip Barman wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, and met with the TPSC chairman after a recent job recruitment notice stated that the age limit to apply for an Assistant Professor’s post is 40, which has sparked tension among job aspirants whose age crossed 40.
The MLA said it is a total violation of UGC guidelines which say there is no age limit for professor recruitment.
“It will also deprive the guest lecturers who are working for years across degree colleges,” said Barman.
“This violation will deprive many talented and deserving candidates of the state,” said Sudip Barman.
“I talked to the chairman, and he accepted that there was a flaw in the recruitment guidelines and he assured me to review the matter and take it to the hierarchy level,” said Barman.
The Congress MLA also wrote to the CM and said, he believes that CM is a sensitive person in such matters and he would definitely take action to reverse the violating guidelines.
