AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): BJP party activists protested in front of Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner’s office in Agartala, raising their voice against the recent attack in Bangladesh hurled upon Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral house. Addressing the media, BJP State President, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee said, “We have been observing since the Yunus government came to power, there is a massive rise in attacks on Hindus, and their religious, sentimental spots.”
“Adding to those attacks, now there was a severe attack on Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home, at Sahajahapur,” Bhattacharjee said.
“It’s unthinkable whether it’s a government or a slaughter --- it’s only killing people. The insult to Rabindranath Tagore will not be tolerated by Indians,” he added. “That’s why we are protesting.”
“What’s more surprising is that no statement came from Yunus government about this incident. No culprit involved in this incident was arrested,” he said.
