AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): A four members’ team from Delhi AIIMS hospital led by Prof M. Srinivas reached Tripura on Saturday to inspect the GB hospital and other health infrastructure of the state. Right after reaching Tripura, the medical expert team met Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, followed by a visit to GB Hospital, accompanied by Tripura top health officials.
The delegation talked to the senior doctors, visited the wards inside the GB hospital.
Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte told media that the visit is a part of checking the available facilities in the hospital and to understand what’s lacking.
He said the medical staff’s ratio was also checked, which is another crucial part of any hospital’s system.
The Health Secretary chaired a meeting with the delegation and discussed health infrastructure-related issues. That meeting was also attended by the Chief Minister.
AIIMS is one of the best hospitals in India, run by the Govt of India.
Tripura Govt under Chief Minister Manik Saha has been focusing on improving GB hospital conditions and elevating it to an AIIMS-like institution.
