AGARTALA, May 31 (TIWN): Knee-level water was seen on Saturday in Chief Minister's quarter area following incessant rain of past few days. Various areas in Agartala are water-logged, causing troubles among the common men in passing the routes around the city. Water-logging that has been a major issue in Agartala has taken worse shape because of the heavy rain which the wealther department already alerted days back. Officegoers and workers have faced the most trouble as the adverse weather has hit their movements. Local businesses were also affected due to the weather and annual sales for the traditional "Jamai Shashthi" faced severe losses in comparison with the previous years.
Government of Tripura has opened relief camps, sheltering thousands of people affected due to the flood situation.
The Disaster Management had taken all necessary precautions to save the population from any untoward incident because of the weather.
