AGARTALA, April 20 (TIWN): In a blow to the border security, a few Bangladeshi thieves allegedly attempted attacks on Indian farmers in Simna after they crossed the fencing to cultivate in Indian land, which is a traditional process of cultivation for many Indian farmers whose land is bordered by Bangladesh.
When the farmers were working in the field, some unknown people tried to take their cows. They were holding thick sticks in their hands.
When Indian farmers together thrashed them, they tried to escape. Whereas others could escape, the farmers could still detain two of them.
Angry local people raised questions on BSF’s role, which is failing to protect the Indian farmlands.
The locals also demanded 24X7 power services in their Ishanpur village as cow thefts are drastically rising there.
