AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): Demanding Roman script for Kokborok, TIPRA MOTHA supported Twipra Students Federation (TSF) once again resumed their protest in Bishramganj area for the second consecutive day, blocking pedestrians, vehicles which has paralyzed the transport mobility on Saturday.
The protest is not only a breach of the memorandum of understanding which was signed between Tipra Motha, Tripura State, and Central Govt but it's inhuman as the agitators are not allowing train, flight passengers, pedestrians and patients to pass.
Whereas ambulances are allowed to pass, ambulances are used only for referral! Amid Tripura's low stock of ambulances, people use private vehicles to carry patients but the agitators are not in the mood to understand such public issues.
Many agitators were drunk in Deoanbari area on Friday, alleged suffered public.
Critics say, it is a scripted protest as amid low numbers of agitators attending the protests across the state, the blockades are made successful with police protection.
However, the protest not only caused disturbances among common men but also led to heavy suffering for the police, TSR personnel who had no other option except standing hours and hours, purchasing food, and water from their own pockets.
Also, the demand for "Roman Script" is not an impossible demand, and what's stopping the Government from fulfilling their Roman Script demands, is raising eyebrows.
The protest was called by the student wing and the student wing supporters did not allow examination candidates to pass, shaming the spirit of student movement history. The protest was openly supported by Tipra Motha supremo whom the wing had wrote letters for support before launching the protest.
