AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Dr. Archana Majumdar, Member, National Commission for Women in a press meet in Agartala, claimed, there are no poor people left in Tripura. At least, she has not come across during her two-days-Tripura visit, Majumder said after completing his visit.
"Right now Tripura's financial condition is so improved than before," she added.

"We are here to make the girls and women financially independent and make them aware of various project and scheme opportunities," Majumder told the media.
Archana Majumder, however, requested that Tripura police become more sensitive when dealing with women-related cases.
"It has been seen often that cases like domestic violence remain unresolved. In other cases also, the person who is writing the complaint, perhaps, not sensitive enough and so not taking care of the matter well. We make the police personnel awaren on that too," said Majumder.
