AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): A clash of words erupted among BJP and Tipra Motha parties, interfering in Govt sponsored construction projects and according to Bishramganj TTAADC Sub-Zonal chairman Sanjib Dabbarma, who Wednesday addressed media on this issue, alleged that on Tuesday BJP Mandal President Tapas Das, Sukanta Debnath and few others attempted to stop a developmental work in Charilam. Reacting to the incident, the sub-zonal chairman warned BJP, to refrain from such activities.

“We will not let anyone halt developmental activities in ADC. Nobody should try to interfere in progressive works,” said Sanjib Debbarma.

TYF, Tipra Motha’s youth wing members were also present with the chairman during the press meet.

The contract work which has sparked all tensions among these political allies is a District Transport office construction work, under Bishramganj RD Division.

The BJP leaders allegedly attempted to stop the work yesterday but when YTF members rushed to the spot, the BJP leaders left the place.

YTF has requested the local administration to interfere and take strict action against anyone who indulges in such works.

A complaint letter was submitted to the Executive Engineer of Bishramganj division.
