Gambling stands tall in rural Tripura: Making foreign liquor grips Tripura subdivision

AGARTALA, February 8 (TIWN): Illegal business of ending-gambling and making of foreign liquor going on at full swing from in rural Tripura. But the police administration has been found to have taken the role of silent spectator showing a thumb to the increasing rate of anti social atmosphere. According to the sources, the promptitude of wide playing of gambling and ending is going on unabated at Ampinagar.
Recently the Ampinagar police nabbed a section of youth engaged to the much hyped business at present ending-gambling. But according to the sources another section of youths are engaged to the illegal business game at large at the area along with others including Tui-chakma, Pancharat, Raishyabari, Teliamura, Khowai, Lake Chowmuhni area, Howrah market and Agartala Maharajganja Bazar are especially at full swing.
On the other hand police officials are engaged in taking carrot and earning lot of extortion from the illegal businessman.
At the same time young generation is on the verge of destruction while anti- social activities going on at full swing from morning to evening all across the state. The business has turned much profitable for a section of people of the state while the others engaged to the activity have been suffering from a great loss as a section of young boys at present age secretly takes the money from their parents to get engage to ending-gambling play cards.
However beside, according to the sources the making of foreign liquor has stood tall from Kamalpur sub division to Salema. Once the tribals especially were engaged on making country made liquor (Rice made), but this has now seems to have gone down with a section of people at present are engaged in making foreign liquor. Some of the factories to make the foreign liquors has also been reported to have set up in some of the areas under Kamalpur sub division.
Most surprisingly the prime works of the people engaged in making foreign liquors are to paste a new label to the bottles, mixing drugs related tablets, putting thinner and the flavor of alcohol to the duplicate wine in the bottles. According to the sources, the duplicate made foreign liquor are found available in various kinds of shops under the sub division.
However the role of a silent spectator of the police administration even getting aware to the fact has created resentment among the educated society. It is also mentionable that a section of common people became bankrupt by investing rupees for ending gambling. Besides, it would be wise enough to mention here that it must be a high time for the police administration to take a stock of the situation and restrict the increasing rate of anti social activities across the rural Tripura.
