AGARTALA, Dec 9 (TIWN): Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Monday informed media that Rs. 161 crores of bills are pending on Bangladesh side, which it yet to clear.

“We provide power to Bangladesh based on a deal between two nations. No state can decide on such deals,” said Nath.

“There is a central organizations which deal with such issues. We have told the center about the pending bills and now if center talked to Bangladesh on this, I have no information about it,” added Ratan Lal Nath.

“Bangladesh is our friend, our neighbor. Yes, right now there is a moulawadi government that is ruling the country but power is given as per the deal,” said Ratan Lal Nath.

Around 80 MW of power is being supplied to Bangladesh, the Minister added.
