AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): Bangladesh’s senior citizen Sudhir Chandra Sarkar along with his son Shankar Chandra Sarkar and other family members illegally entered Tripura but were caught by Ambassa police from Ambassa Railway station. A total of ten persons from two families were detained by police.
On being apprehended, Shankar Chandra Sarkar said, they were forced to come to India because of the increasing torture of minorities in Bangladesh since Seikh Hasian Govt’s fall.
Talking to the media at Kadamtala police station, Shankar Chandra Sarkar said, “We can not go out of home. People there continuously harass us. Vehicles do not pick us and a lot of verbal abuse everywhere. We do not feel secure anymore there.”
“Nobody will stay in Bangladesh. All have to come out and flee the country. We left our home and everything there. This was not easy,” Sarkar said.
