AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): A security concern was issued since a wild protest took place unprecedently at Bangladesh Visa Office, which is also known as the Bangladesh High Commissioner Office in Agartala. The agitators broke into the office premise and took out Bangladesh’s flag which was later burnt.Today security forces were seen blanketing the Visa office and the flag was restored. First time in history, the Bangladesh High Commissioner's office has suspended its Visa services and stopped all proceedings due to security concerns.
The decision was taken after an order came from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Yesterday, a group of agitators entered Bangladesh Visa office and vandalized it. They took down the Bangladesh flag and set it on fire. Today seven persons were also arrested in this connection.
The administration canceled a rally permission that was organized against Bangladesh today.
All these developments are coming after yesterday’s violent protest at the High Commissioner’s office.
At least seven persons were apprehended in Agartala for vandalizing Bangladesh High Commissioner’s office, taking down Bangladeshi flag and set in on fire. Talking to media, SP Kiran Kumar said, they would be produced before the court and interrogated for details. He said, more people are on police’s radar and expected to be arrested.
