AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): An on-duty police constable was struck by a car, leaving him critical.

The injured police official has been identified as Rakesh Debnath.

He is posted in Amtali PS and during his duty hours, a vehicle in reckless mode hit him in Suryamani Nagar area, near Tripura University.

He is now admitted to GB hospital. A large number of police officials were seen in the hospital, giving him support beside his bed.

His health was better (according to a police official) but was seen in a traumatized state.
