AGARTALA, Nov 19 (TIWN): Tripura Congress MLA Sudip Barman appealed to the people to be united amid all the divisive games played by the BJP. Addressing a gathering at Agartala, Sakuntala market, Barman said, BJP is trying to break the unity and to impulse the tension between communities. “First they tried to create tribes, non-tribes clash with Gandachera incident but failed and then with a Kali temple which was totally fabricated and then Muslim brothers’ houses were set on fire in Durgananagar in Mandai, but still failed to generate tension. Then they targeted Kadamtala and people who indulged in violence turned the situation worst centering a Durga puja donation,” said Sudip Barman.
He further slammed the BJP government over unemployment issues.
The Congress MLA was addressing the rally in Agartala on the closing program of the Sanghati rally that was started by the party on Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary. Today on her birth anniversary the Sanghati rally was closed.
The 20 days long campaigning went across the state led by the local Congress members.
MLA Gopal Roy, senior Congress leader Adv Pijush Biswas were also present during the rally today in Sakuntala market.
