AGARTALA, Nov 1 (TIWN): No consumer rights are preserved for the electricity consumers in Tripura as everyday, there are fresh complaints about electricity bills.
“Earlier, at 500 rupees the unit was like 85 but this month it shows at 1,500 rupees only 79 unit was given which is totally confusing,” a consumer who came to Bordowali power office said.
“We want transparency. Also, we want to know how much charge was imposed per month and they are just not giving us any details,” he said.
However, Bordowali office has issued a notice saying, even after the tariff was increased in August, 2024, the system software was not changed. Mow with the system's upgradation, the bills will be shown higher as three months' pending meter rents, and fixed charges have been added through a reconciliation process.
