AGARTALA, Oct (TIWN): BJP’s ally IPFT party organized a meeting in Agartala press club on Monday, and various strategic decisions were taken during the meeting. The IPFT party conducted the meeting ahead of village committee polls in the state. The party has been in alliance with the ruling BJP since the 2018 poll, but heavily lost public support as it failed to keep Tipraland's promise, and the support base was taken over by another regional party Tipra Motha with Greater Tipraland promise. Though both parties mutualized with BJP after getting cabinet posts, the parties still influence the ST voters.
Today after the meeting a journalist asked IPFT how would it overcome the challenges that it has been facing since the 2023 Assembly poll as IPFT ended up with only 1-MLA seat and its solo minister in the cabinet.
Reacting to the question, an IPFT leader said, the media persons should know how the IPFT party is getting stronger and claimed every day many joining programs are happening across the state.
