AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): In the horrifying killing incident in Melarmath, the culprit also died in GB hospital. The murderer Rahul Roy stabbed Melarmath businessman Hari Shankar Saha and killed him. After the incident, local people beat Rahul Roy and as a result, he was also hospitalized. His body has been sent for post-mortem. Earlier Rahul’s mother claimed that Rahul is a mental patient and depressed. Hari Shankar Saha, a mobile store owner was killed as he refused to pay an extra amount demanded by Rahul. Earlier Rahul gave Hari Shankar Saha an amount to purchase an iPhone and as the iPhone could not be arranged, his money was returned but since then Rahul started demanding more amount from Hari Shankar Saha because the store spoiled his time. Centering this, Rahul Roy rushed to Hari Shankar Saha’s store and stabbed him multiple times.
The incident happened on October 15 and Hari Shankar Saha breathed his last on October 16, at the GB Hospital.

Earlier the victim’s family also criticized police’s role in how they failed to save Hari Shankar Saha who was stabbed multiple times in front of police. Public also alleged the same.
“Police was neither allowing me to enter nor they were going. Later, I could enter and took my father to IGM and from there he was referred to GB hospital,” said Hari Shankar Saha’s son.
Later SP ordered an investigation to find if any lapse was in Melarmath’s on-duty police role.
