AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): Tripura State Electricity Corporation (TSECL) consumers alleged a discrepancy between units and the billing, forcing them to pay extra amounts with bills that they don't owe. Videos were published which shows an argument between electric department official and a consumer whereas the official was later sympathetic to the demand of the customer.
A video shows a mild argument development between an official and a consumer in Agartala where the consumer alleges they are given unfair billing statements. The employee at the beginning was arguing but he added that his hands are tight and he knows it's not correct.
"In fact, it's me who raised the issue first and complained about how the units are charged. Everyday person are visiting the office with same issue and this month almost all consumers are facing similar issues. You should talk to the higher authority......" the employee was captured saying in the video.
In reply l, the consumer said, "Sir I'm a daily worker. It's a lot of expense to travel across offices. Now, being a daily worker I have to pay Rs. 200 extra in bill and if I want to complain I have to spend from my pocket. Today also while coming to meet you I had to expend for vehicle fairs."
Later talking to media, the consumers said, such things should be stopped immediately and customers should be relieved from paying extra amounts.
