AGARTALA, Oct 13 (TIWN): Samarjit Chowdhury killed his wife Tanushree Acharjee and mother-in-law Soma Acharjee brutally in Amtali by injuring them with a sharp chopper. Within an hour of the incident, police arrested the accused from Madhupur area but after being arrested Samarjit Chowdhury’s attitude remained with no regret. He accepted his guilt and when produced before the media while taken to court, the accused was saying he himself was coming to surrender and so police do not need to hold him tightly because he is not going to escape.
While briefing to media, SP West Kiran Kumar said, a divorce case was going on between Samarjit Acharjee and Tanushree Acharjee for one and a half years.

“Samarjit was angry with his mother-in-law because he believes that his mother-in-law was the cause of his worsening relationship with his wife. Tanushree Acharjee yesterday posted a picture on social media with two of her male friends. Because she was happy, it made him angry. He entered his in-law’s house when Tanushree and her mother went out to celebrate Durga puja. When they came back, Samrjit attacked both of them. Soma Acharjee was found almost in beheaded condition,” said SP.
