AGARTALA, Oct 3 (TIWN): Former CM Manik Sarkar while addressing a rally in Agartala on Thursday said that the rally was organized without any permission and he said, such rallies are necessitated because police do not give permission when they are asked to give it. “We knew, if we asked for permission, they (police) won’t give us. That is why we just informed the police that we are organizing a rally. If you (police) want, then provide protections,” said Sarkar. Sarkar further mentioned, that earlier when any unpermitted rally was organized, the CPI-M workers, and leaders were arrested immediately but now the police did not do that because they were also realising what was going to happen. CPI-M organized a protest rally in Agartala on Thursday voicing against increasing crime, law and order issues, etc. Watch Manik Sarkar’s speech here.
