AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): Ramnagar resident Mithun Karmakar was arrested with 355 KG Ganja by East Agartala Police. The seizure took place in Chandrapur, Agartala when the vehicle was moving towards Meghalaya. Police raided the truck after being informed through a secret source that a vehicle with Nagaland’s number-plate suspiciously moving in the area. East Agartala Police rushed to the spot and conducted a search operation. Talking to media after the incident, SP West Kiran Kumar said, the truck was hiding the marijuana inside a secret chamber. Police had to call mechanics to unseal the hidden contents.
Total of 45 packets of marijuana that weighed 355 KG were seized. Police will interrogate detained driver Mithun Karmakar to delve deeper into the smuggling network.
