AGARTALA, Aug 29 (TIWN): A group of people torched minority Muslim houses on August 25 in Ranir Bazar after Hindu temple was vandalized by unknown people. Accordingly, police arrested the accused persons involved in this crime. Today, in support of the arrested persons, a group of people gathered and blocked the road demanding the immediate release of the arrested people. During the protest, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury rushed to the spot and delivered a shocking remark saying, “It’s my responsibility to release all the arrested persons.”
The minority Muslim community’s houses were attacked, vandalized, looted, and set to fire by miscreants on August 25 with accusations of vandalizing Hindu temple.
The opposition Congress party blamed BJP for its involvement in this incident. CPI-M party demanded compensation for the affected people.
