AGARTALA, Aug 26 (TIWN): Section 163, of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) has been imposed in Jirania Subdivision by West District DM. The restriction was imposed after common people's houses were set on fire by miscreants.
In the order issued by DM West Vishal Kumar it’s stated, “As per information received from Superintendent of Police, West Tripura vide. no. 33403/SP/DIB/WD/2024 dated 26.08.2024 there is an apprehension of breach of peace due to violent activities of a group of people under Jirania subdivision.”
The imposition will continue till 28th August 1 AM.
It has been additionally said these areas will not be affected by the imposition :
- Movement of military / paramilitary force, state police force engaged in maintenance of law and order,
- Movement of members of public authorised by the SP (West) and SDM of Jirania Subdivision,
- Movement of government servants when it is essential for discharge of emergent official duty hours and
- Movement of patients requiring immediate medical treatment.
